Personalized service includes contact with a friendly, caring driver. We check on our clients' well-being and notify emergency contacts about any concerns or anything different from the normal routine.
Pet Food Program
Through a partnership with the Riverside Humane Society and Pet Adoption Center, we also deliver FREE pet food for the companion dogs and cats of our clients. Riverside Meals on Wheels provides nutritious meals to homebound seniors and individuals with disabilities. Our service area is anywhere within the City of Riverside. Meals are delivered to persons who are essentially housebound, unable to safely prepare nutritious meals for themselves and have little or no assistance to obtain adequate nutrition. There is NO income requirement, and there is currently no waiting list. Some people utilize our service while recovering from illness or surgery, others need meals indefinitely. If you or a loved one has difficulty safely preparing nutritious meals, we can help with home-delivered, ready-to-eat meals.
If the delivery address is outside the city limits of Riverside, California, refer to the list of Alternate Meal Programs to locate a meal program in your area.
Cost of Meals
The cost is $5.50 per meal, which covers the cost of the food product alone and does not include any operating or fundraising expenses. The monthly cost depends on the number of delivery days in a given month.
Minimum service is one month, payable in advance. Credit is given for any meals missed due to medical emergencies and for meals canceled at least 24 hours in advance.
